Greenock Ocean Terminal

Client Name: Riverside Inverclyde

Role: Cost Manager

RLF will be providing Cost Management services for the Greenock Ocean Terminal project, a landmark building on the banks of the Clyde at Greenock to welcome cruise ship passengers.

The plans have just been unveiled for the £15m cruise terminal comprising a berthing facility, visitor centre and restaurant. The centre also includes a purpose-built art gallery to display works from the sculptor George Wyllie, who died in 2012 at the age of 90 and gained international acclaim for his pieces ‘Straw Locomotive’ and ‘Paper Boat’.

The terminal and visitor centre is to be operated by Peel Ports, and the new restaurant will have panoramic views across the Clyde. According to Inverclyde Council, the proposed Greenock Ocean Terminal could attract £26m extra spending to the economy with over 150,000 passengers potentially passing through the terminal.

Project completion expected October 2020.
